Hi, y'all!
I'm planning to relocate to Houston or Conroe this coming year. Does anyone know how much money RNs generally make? Thanks!

Yeah! Electric motorcycles exist. A bit pricey but I can't remeber who makes it though. Aprilia makes an automatic gas motorcycle - purdy Italian made bike.
2 wheels are definitely fun!

I was in Houston for interview 2 weeks ago.
With 7 years experience in US and 6 yrs experience abroad (RN III):
SLEH (TMC) - $37.50 - (2,500 relocation assistance, with referral bonus)
St. Luke's (The Woodlands) - $33.5 -($1,500 relocation, with referral bonus)
Memorial Hermann, Memorial City - $ 33.70, (with relocation help calculated depending on the distance of your old home base, with sign-on bonus, with referral bonus - $5,500 for critical care nurses).
If you have certifications, advance degree, etc...you can apply for their career ladder.
Call their HR, they will quote you base on their salary grid. The Hermann will require you to go visit them before they quote you that's why I went there.
FYI.

Im new to this forum and have found very informative answers to my questions. Im also planning to move to houston sometime end of this year and those starting rates are quite reasonable. Does any1 know the overtime pay in houston medical center? is it same with others like time and half? im an rn working at medsurg.. thanks for any info.. also if any1 knows per diem rates on the area.
Yep, O.T. paid the same -- time and a half.
Most PRN rates are around $36/hr
Although float pool rates for some facilities can fetch you rates as high as $50/hr.

PRN= per diem, as needed.
This position never carries benefits, but the pay is higher.
Hours are *never* guaranteed and you are first canceled.

p.r.n. = per required need...
If a required staffing need arises (call-ins, unfilled position, vacation time being taken, maternity leave, leaves of absence, etc.), PRN employees usually fill these empty shifts. Your shifts will be canceled once the full-time employee returns from leave, or when they hire another full-time employee to fill the shifts.
thanks for the replys.. houston has a pretty descent pay although im also thinking about south CA. kaisser's overtime pay is X2 and half and house prices have gone down to more than 40% its very inviting as of this time.
From Wikipedia....Pro re nata is a Latin phrase that literally means "for the thing born". It is commonly used in medicine to mean "as needed" or "as the situation arises."

From Wikipedia....
Per diem, is Latin for "per day" or "for each day". It usually refers to the daily rate of any kind of payment. It may also refer to a specific amount of money that an organization allows an individual to spend per day, to cover living and travelling expenses in connection with work.
Yo Tatet98,
what's the low down in Cali? Any other info you can provide about State Income tax rates, Union Fees, and where home prices have declined to 40%. The decline in home prices, if it is that much, sounds disastrous. Is that occurring in only specific areas, where?
Thanks.
