Fort Worth living

U.S.A. Texas

Haven't been able to find any advice for this anywhere else so I figured I'd ask here.

I'm a new graduate (early 20's and single) and will be moving to Fort Worth but I can't afford any apartment right in the downtown area since they are all over $1000 a month.

What other areas of Fort Worth would you suggest for a young professional? Looking for an area that has lots to do with people to meet within a budget (at least less than $1,000/month... I'm only making a new grad salary!) Thanks! :)

Hello and welcome! DFW has a ton of apartments. It would just depend on how far you're willing to commute. I currently work at Harris Methodist downtown Ft. Worth and just moved to central Arlington. It's very busy over here, close by the mall in fact. It's about a 25 minute drive on a night shift. Depending on how many bedrooms and sq. ft. you want, a pretty nice apartment can start anywhere between $800-$900. Prior to moving over here, I stayed in South Arlington, close by Mansfield, and that was about a 15 minute drive.

Safe parts of Fort Worth with reasonable rents include Saginaw (13 miles from downtown), southwest Fort Worth (Hulen Street area), Benbrook, White Settlement, and north Fort Worth (Western Center Blvd.).
