    OH MY..........

so today in lecture we went over our last 2 tests (test 3&4). You guys remember the student who made the 70 on the last test and who was fighting the system? Well.....during today's review, it was revealed that the people who had the same test version (D) as she did received 4 extra points on test 3 while everyone else with the other versions (A,B,C) were only awarded 2! Now this student is claiming that she had a 72 all along and now has a 74 and that she didn't get 4 points- she only got 2. I know for a fact that is a lie because I was there when she was bawling her eyes out because she thought she was out of the program with her 70. A lot of us even have emails from her clearly stating that she made a 70 on test 3!! We're thinking the teacher awarded 4 points to all of those with that version of the test to take the target off of her back.....Does this sound fishy to anyone else?! I cannot believe this! Just when I thought I wasn't going to get upset about this anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    thank you amy :d

i have been sick the past few days. i don't have insurance so i can't go to the doctor. going by my symptoms, my husband and i think i have salmonella poisoning. i made cookie dough on saturday and ate it raw (like i've done for years) but i guess it hit me bad this time. i'm not exactly positive that's what's going on but i can't keep anything down or in (sorry i know- too much information lol) to save my life. i don't have a fever though... i've lost valuable study time but i am feeling much better than i have the past 2 days! i'm soooo thankful for my health!!!!

brie- i hope your check-off went well!!! i was thinking about you today!!!!!!!

good luck to everyone on finals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes, katie, our blueprint is posted and it's awesome. i hope it helps!
i hope you get better girl!!! if you need antibiotics, you can go to mission arlington (i volunteered there today and it was absolutely amazing) and see an md and get rx for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!! call before you go so that you can get an appt and ask for andrea and tell her that you're a nursing student. seriously, if there is anything you need, they have it! they even have a gyn, eye doctor, and a dermatolgist that comes there! and they all volunteer their services on their lunch breaks!!!! if i didn't have insurance, i would definitely go there because the doctor's really care about you and not the money obviously! i just couldn't believe it... they definitely put me to work though! i did triage which was awesome!!!

they moved my check-off to friday so hopefully that will go well. i'm still nervous about the final... i don't know why because the blueprint is awesome. i haven't even thought about the hesi yet! i guess i'll start studying monday evening or tuesday.

    good luck on finals everyone!!!!!

Allison, all I can say is let the powers that be handle it. You have too much on your own plate for added stressors!!

While it is not fair to the others that did w/d, if it's meant to be, then she'll go on and be forever grateful. As for the others who did w/d, they'll come back, will have learned the material better, and they too will go on and be forever grateful.

We all have a chance of being 'that girl'. We all have that chance of having to make 'that decision'. I pray that it doesn't happen, but we all know it could.

So, try to put displace your anger into energy to get better and study for the final and HESI, that way you can make sure you move on.

    brie,

thanks for posting this about the free healthcare. i have been worried about not having health insurance for the next 2 years. i never get sick it seems, unless i don't have health insurance! the last time i was sick with no insurance i went to parkland (non-emergency clinic) and it ended up costing me about $650.00 because i didn't have insurance.

good luck on your check off, finals, and hesi. try not to stress too much and you'll do better.

    amy

Did you notice "VGUR" on the blueprint? I think it should be VUR as vesicourethral reflux. What do you think?

Thank you Mi'Shelle for your nice words. I do need to focus on my final especially after all of the sick time lost!

Thank you very much Brie for that information! My back went out Saturday night and I had to go to the ER and I don't even want to know what that bill will be! I told them there wasn't anyway I could pay it so I got on a payment plan. To fill the pain meds cost me $50!!!

Katie- I believe you're right about that! What about EDC? What is that? Is that Naegle's rule?

What ER did you go to? THR facilities offer "charity" to qualifying patients in order to remain non-profit. In most cases, they cover the entire bill if not 50% or 75%! I used to work in billing.... :spin:

Also, Walmart is offering certain Rx for $4.

Thank you for the information, Brianna. I went to Medical City because my back goes out every other year when it gets cold and that's where I always go. They were very friendly. I was afraid they were going to tell me to go somewhere else because I didn't have insurance. I'm sure I'll get a lovely bill but I know I was taken good care of and I didn't have to wait 3 days to be seen. I used to have insurance up until about 6 months ago when I dropped to part time. Hopefully I can make it just one more year!!
