Austin Community College (ACC) Admissions Fall 2014

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Here we go, new thread for the people who weren't able to get in the Spring 2014.

Seems like every semester the number of people admitted to the course is dropping.

2013 Spring - Admitted 127

2013 Fall - Admitted 117

2014 Spring - Admitted 111

Couple of years ago they were admitting 160 students a semester, so this is a disturbing trend for us who are waiting to get in to the course.

Hey Whatevski, I had a similar situation happen with the blue card. I went and did my prints on like April 28th, and I waited a while since someone on this thread had mentioned that they called TBON and they said they were a bit behind. When I still didn't receive it by late May, I started calling TBON to see what might have happened. It took me several tries to get through, because each time I had to hold for no less than 20 minutes, and I was always calling from work so I had to hang up.

Finally, around June 1st, I called and after a 27 minute wait, I got in touch with a representative who checked and said that my blue card had been mailed out May 23rd, but I never received it. It turns out, since my street address is so long, part of my apartment number "fell off" at some point during the labeling process and my card was returned. She told me I would have to e-mail or fax in a request for a change of address and try to shorten my street address as much as possible, wait 10 business days for it to be processed, and then call back and have them re-send my card. Mind you, I double and triple checked my address on my fast-pass, and when I went to submit my fingerprints, so this was not my mistake. What a mess...

So I e-mailed the request, waited like 5 business days and called them again (because I was hoping for a miracle) and after a 34 minute wait, I spoke with a nice lady who said that the change of address had not been processed, but she said "This isn't really a change of address, your full address just didn't fit. I can just print out a label and get a duplicate card sent out to you right now, if you'd like." Un-be-freaking-leivable. I got my blue card 3 days later. :woot:

So, I am telling you this long story to give you a heads up about the call hold times, and depending on what the issue is with your card, it seems like their level of helpfulness might depend on who happens to answer your call. I'd go ahead and try to give them a call to see what's up. It seems like most people on here who have talked about the length of time to get their card has usually been less than a month, for sure. I hope you have better luck than I did with getting in touch with someone over there!!
