Are CNAs allowed to do PPDs or can only LVN/LPN and RNs do them?

Anywhere I've worked I've never known a CNA that was allowed to administer a TB shot or check one.

Let me add (since if I try to edit my post it wants to include the addition as part of the hyperlink), that I've never worked anywhere where a CNA could plant a PPD. Medical assistants may be able to plant them in private practices but I doubt very much that a CNA could plant them anywhere.

This would be a good question to ask the certifying authority in your state, or the RN or LVN Boards. Any of them would be happy to assist you.

I'm an LVN in Texas. None of the places I've worked or did clinicals at allowed CNA or CMAs to place or read PPD tests. PPD is considered a medication and CNAs are not allowed to administer medications.

OH, just come to Colorado, they are so loose here, anyone can do anything. Seriously. I miss home so badly in Texas where standards are upheld. Here, I've been in fear of my license on many occasions.
