U.S.A. Tennessee

Yeah, I know... I'm waaaay ahead of time :) But I thought there might be some people planning ahead like me. I'm graduating in December and I thought some others might like to discuss what you are doing to help you get in! I have a 3.7, I'm doing a medical mission to Guatamala in May, attending the NSNA annual convention, and hopefully working at a special needs day camp over the summer. I know I need some volunteer hours, so I'm hoping to fit them in at the end of the summer and during next semester, and praying its enough. Anyone else? [Pediatrics BTW]

I'm applying, also. It looks like a great program... as in opportunity of a lifetime. I have a 3.7 and have been volunteering at a clinic all year. I worked as a CNA for about 3 years. Does all that help? Oh, and I'm interested in the mental health track.

Hey everyone! I was just accepted into the adult acute tract (I was initially wait-listed). Are any of the out of state people taking boards in their home state or in Tennessee? I don't know what might be the best option...

Was in the last cohort. If you're in a compact state TN wants you to originally sign up for your Rn license in your home state. If non-compact you apply directly to the state of TN. At least that was my experience.

Okay thank you! I am from a non compact state (Florida), so I will try to apply directly to the state of TN

Congrats on your acceptance...that's awesome! I am also waitlisted and was wondering when you found out that you got in off of the waitlist. Thanks!

Hi everyone. I just submitted my second part of the application. Hope I hear back soon. Anyone know how soon after you submit your application materials you hear back? This sounds like a great program. I chose peds, mainly cause it has NICU and thats my passion. Fingers crossed- waiting. Best of Luck to you all!

Also when does the summer cohort start and how long is the program. Anyone who is in the program currently any words of wisdom?

Hey! Thank you :) I found out on the 2nd...Best of luck to you! Waiting was agonizing, but I believe there is still time for you to get off that wait list!

Hey everyone! I am also applying for summer 2014! Does anyone know if the 2nd part of the application packet is due by the 22nd as well?

Yes the second part is due by 22nd.

Thank you New2Nursing14'! I hope I can complete all of the requirements in time. I'm a little worried about getting all of the forms filled out in time , but hopefully it will all work out in the end. Does the packet include a form for the Dean and one clinical instructor to fill out?

Yes one from dean or your advisor. A separate one from instructor. I sent to more than one instructor because you never know who is going to fill out by when. That way the one that replies the earliest is considered for your application.

Thank you so much!
