New to area and unsure of LPN Salary for Memphis area.

U.S.A. Tennessee

Hello all,

I've just relocated to the Memphis, TN area recently and have been researching the salary expectations for an LPN. I'm not a recent grad, I have about 7 years experience in OBGYN, Pediatrics and Special Education. However, I do have lapses in my resume due to relocating because of my husband's job.

I applied for a job at a privately owned family clinic to work as an LPN but the starting pay was $9.00 an hour (with the possibility of increasing to $10.00 after a few months). I know cost of living is lower here than where I moved from but that seems drastically low. Don't get me wrong I will be thankful for any job I have the opportunity to come across, but I do need to make a living at the same time.

To sum it up I would like to not price myself out of a job when asked the salary question at an interview, and would like to have a realistic answer. What are some of your current jobs and pay? For example, Clinic versus hospital and long term facilities. Also, wondering what the salary baseline is for a new LPN hire at Planned Parenthood?

Thank you.

$9 an hr is what a cna with no experience make. Where did you live?

Go on Craigslist for Memphis. Nursing homes and Assisted Living Facilities are always hiring L

PNs.

Starting salary is around 19hr with little experience .

Up to 21 depending on the companying!
