I know it's a bit early, but I intend on applying for the evening/weekends program at SWTCC Spring 2012. I have a gpa of 2.75, 143 on nln, and an A in ap2 and B's in micro and ap1. Is there anyone on here that has been accepted to the program during a spring semester.. heard it's more competitive vs fall sem!!?? What are my chances???:uhoh3: Thanks

Don't feel bad. I think we are all concerned. I'm sure they will answer all our questions. I just took my drug test today. Hopefully, he background check doesn't have any problems. It shouldn't, but you know how that goes sometimes. I am going to call Meza today. I need to get my certification as well. I do have a questions maybe someone can answer it. Can we go to any doctor and have them do that physical? I don't have a primary care doctor. I will email Mary Vines on that myself.

http://www.twonursemanikin.com is also a BLS Cert. Their class is $55 dollars.

WHere can we go to get the physical done? I don't have a primary care physican!

Anyone else having this problem?

I dont have a primary care phsician either, let me know if you guys find out anything. I did register to take CPR/AED class at St. Jude critical care division. its $40 from 1-3 on the 14th if interested call Tina Frazier @ 901-595-4765. You will have to pick up a book and have read it before the class, we will be tested on it.

Mrs. Vines emailed me back. She said we can go to any doctor. I am going to to the Methodist Minor Clinic on Union. That's where my insurance pays for!!

Thanks dbowen!

Guess not...insurance doesn't pay for school physicals...oh well!

Insurance will over cover one physical a year. Luckily, it's around that time for me to get my annual physical.

Most insurance companies allow one physical a year. Just bring the school form when you get the physical. Try Dr. Warr at the Light Clinic in Germantown if you don't have a primary physician. He is awesome. You can do the CPR/AED online for $20. I asked Mary Vines if that was okay and she said yes. You can get most of your books at ebay for $.99 to $65. Used, of course and maybe one edition back. I wish I knew where I could get a used SW nursing student uniform; but I don't. I go used whenever possible as I find that these educational tools are usually not worth much when you have finished with them. I actually got a book that was like new for $4.75. We will grow into these books and then we will grow out of them.
