Science portion of TEAS

Nursing Students TEAS

I am going to be taking the TEAS for my 1st time in about a week. Can someone tell me what areas of science to really focus on that has already taken the test? I've also heard there are several questions in reference to scientific reasoning on there....can you give me examples of how these go?

Thanks!

No. The science are completely different. The math are the same though.

For the science portion of the teas test was it mostly just rocks, plates, and was there anything like atmosphere, biosphere, or climates? Anything important about physics like motion, heat, or velocity? Did they cover any biology? Thanks!

Something about a type of slated rock you pick up. something about the earth's orbit. something with a picture from the side about what kind of earth's plates. And anyone who studies reading...well you shouldn't. if you can read a menu you can ace the reading. specific heat and kcals of energy. periodic table. compounds. picture of atoms. hydrologic cycle

I second the recommendation of an earlier poster for the 4kids websites. My score went up 30 points on the practice tests I have been taking.

Just for anyone that reads this post and needs a brush-up on all the high school learned basics of science, I found these sites that are wonderful!

Go to physics4kids.com and in the right-hand margin there's also links to there other sites (i.e. biology4kids, chemistry4kids, etc.). And since these sites are made for young students, the info is put in very plain English. I've found it really helpful in my studying for the TEAS!

Thanks for posting these sites.

Hi, elacer08, I remember rocks, plates, and a lot of biology questions on my test. I dont remember physics, i did not finish, so I don't know if there was physics. I retake on nov.12th. Good Luck!

Are the questions a carbon copy from the ATI study guide??

Hi, jkonopasek, the maths, is the same, i think the english and reading too. English is my second language, sorry, i can not say for sure. But the science is a different story. Is completely different. I think you have to apply concepts. I did not pass. I will have to retake on nov.12th. Good Luck!

Kneecole06, Thank you for these websites. I retake on nov.12th. Congratulations for passing TEAS exam!

the test covers four general areas: math, reading, english and science.

  • math covers whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions, decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, and ratio/proportion
  • reading covers paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, and inferences/conclusions
  • english covers knowledge of punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words and spelling
  • science covers science reasoning, science knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, basic physical principles and general science
