Rolling TEAS exam scores

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Sorry that this is my second post, but I have a very important question. I am planning on attending Delaware County Community College, and you have to pass the teas in order to petition before even getting into the nursing program. However, in order to get into the program, there is no set score that someone most have. The intake of students is on a rolling basis, so if I score a 87 I could have a spot in the program, but if someone gets an 88 it will bump me down a spot. There is a limited number of spots, so this could get me bumped out of the program just due to bad luck. Does anyone else have this issue, and can anyone give me advice as to how to deal with this and what to do to keep my spot in the program (if I pass)?

It just sounds like you need to score as high as you can. The TEAS is very difficult (IMO) and at my school it has been rare to find anyone scoring above around an 84 or so (I scored an 82%).

It's not really about "bad luck" but about studying a lot and refusing to do poorly on it.

Have you started studying for it yet? When are you going to take it?

I've been studying for awhile, and we only get 3 tries to take it. Ever. I am taking it early July to see how it is. On my practice exam with basic knowledge, I got a 73%, but I'm studying every day now.

So, theoretically, you could be accepted and then have your acceptance rescinded if you get bumped enough? Am I understanding that correctly?

Definitely score as high as you can. How much prep time are you giving yourself?

Yes, that's correct. As more students take the test, your place is constantly wavering. You don't know what place you are in until you get the call of whether you are accepted into the program or not.

I'm giving myself a couple hours each day, and I have 3 TEAS books that I am studying from.

That's one more than me lol. We were only allowed two tries.

Just focus on the areas in the practice tests you're struggling with.

I made in the 70's on my practice test and completely panicked. Made a 91 on the real test my first try. You can do it! Just keep studying and telling yourself you can.

How much time did you have between your practice test and the actual test to study more?

Just FYI. This year there were open spots so they didn't even all the seats they had. You might get lucky and have the same thing happen this year.

That's awesome! I hope it will be like that, but I'm still studying lol

Hi..just wondering did you get into the program? And what was your teas score? i'm applying there and just want idea
