Youngest CRNA student?

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

I am interested in becoming a CRNA and will soon go to school to receive my BSN. I was wondering after the two year ICU requirement would it be likely to get into CRNA school at the young age of about 24. Who were the youngest students in your classes?

It's not unknown for people in their young 20's to get in, but for accurate stats you should contact the schools you will be applying to & they can provide that info to you. Good luck!

I wouldn't think that a school would deny you based upon your age, rather it would pick older students with more ICU/critical care experience instead. Never hurts to contact the school you are mosted interested in and see what they say though! Good luck in your BSN program and don't worry about how old you will be when you become a CRNA. You've got plenty of years ahead of you!

I'm 23; found out I got in about a month ago. I turn 24 in August & start school in September. It's doable. Good luck!

For the record, I'll have 2 years and 3 months worth of ICU experience when I start.

Go for the gold!!! I am 28, graduated BSN at 25 and will be starting in June of 2009!!! I have 2 years and 5 months ICU experience. Can't hurt to get going as soon as you can. Good Luck :)

We have a guy who's going to be 25 this year, he also graduates this year. Lucky SOG.

25 and already a CRNA, what a life.

I hope to be 20 (going on 21) when I apply to CRNA school... hopefully everything works out. I'm currently 16 (almost seventeen) and I'm entering a 3yr year round BSN program in a few semesters!

ICU traveler,

I am in the same position you were in. 2.84 GPA, 1050 GRE, 13 yrs ICU / ER.

What school are you in?

Which ones did you apply to and get accepted?

What was your total GPA break down as far as total GPA, Sciences, Nursing etc.

Thank you so much for the help. You've given me confidence that my dream IS within reach with less than stellar creds from 13+ yrs ago.
