  1. I am a young african american female who will be applying to bsn programs to attend in the fall of 2010. Some of my family members have warned me against attending a Historically Black College for fear it will effect my hiring opportunities. I have had family members attend HBCUs and later receive graduate degrees from "white schools" not only to further their education but they felt it was necessary to succeed in their careers, although none where nurses. The programs that I am considering applying to are Howard University, Florida A&M, and North Carolina A&T. I wanted to hear feedback on this issue or from anyone who attended an HBCU for nursing. No offense will be taken upon your opinions...Honesty is appreciated Thank you.
  2. which SON is better VCU or UVA as far as clinical experiences for a traditional BSN
  3. Is TCU or UT Arlington better for traditional BSN as far as the college experience (diversity, dorms, campus life) and ranking of the programs. I am not really concerned with cost as I will only attend if I receive good financial, but currently I am just interested in whether or not theses schools are worth applying to.
  4. I am interested in becoming a CRNA and will soon go to school to receive my BSN. I was wondering after the two year ICU requirement would it be likely to get into CRNA school at the young age of about 24. Who were the youngest students in your classes?
  5. Hello! I am a highschool junior and my highschool offers a free technical program to becoming a CNA my senior year. I plan on becoming a registered nurse going to a four year college to obtain my bsn. Is it a good idea to become a CNA first and use my certification to work the summers between my college years? Any insight is greatly appreciated! Thanks
