I was told that on the 21st Kay has a dinner for all the new students & their spouses/SO's. She also does tailgate parties at the football games. So.....guess we will see each other then, but CCURob, Cali, and Peds...we ought to meet sometime earlier before then for a celebration drink (and anyone else going to TCU!)

I'm am sooooooooo very excited to meet you guys and put faces to the names. I'm there! Just let me know when and where.

Me too! Right now it's hard to fathom what it's going to be like. I quit my FT job and went to another hospital to work PRN. The manager I interviewed with was VERY cool. She said she's had many, many nurses that worked for her that went to CRNA school & that she only had 1 who didn't listen to her when she warned that it would be next to impossible to work...and that nurse apparently was a no-call-no-show at times cuz she would study all night & forget she was scheduled!!!! She told me that she would keep me PRN to work holidays and a rare shift, but she in no way counted on me working during the semester. Seems like she's been thru it with many SRNA's so I decided to REALLY listen to her & believe her when she says "don't plan on working!" :thnkg:

Echo that. The common thread amongst students who fail to succeed in anesthesia school, whether it be didactics or clinical, is that they tried to work AND be a student. If anesthesia is your chosen specialty, focus on that for the duration of your program...your increased paychecks after graduation will pay back any debt you've accumulated as a student. You've made it this far, don't hurt your future with a bad decision.
