Who's going to Anesthesia school?

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

We've had several threads from everyone saying they were accepted to various schools, but if everyone is willing let's do one big thread for everyone that will be starting anesthesia school this summer or fall. If you don't mind please include where you applied, the status from each school ( meaning didn't get an interview, interviewed and not accepted/made alternate/accepted), and the school you chose and why. Thanks, so much!

I applied to :

1) Medical College of Georgia- interviewed and made alternate

2) Samford (in Birmingham)- interviewed and accepted

3) University of Alabama at Birmingham- interviewed and accepted and will be going there this fall. I chose UAB because I loved the Director and all of their clinicals are in Birmingham, so I won't have to travel all over the state.

Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island 2010!:cheers::cheers:

It was strange they said I was the last applicant to receive an interview way late in January and then I received a FEDEX letter in the mail 3 days later. Woo Hoo!!

Congrats,:balloons:

what was your stats?

what was your stats?

Umm nursing school i had a 3.4

Worked in a CT-ICU for 8mo, CCU for 10 mo, SICU for 8 mo and counting.

No CCRN, No GRE. I was studying for my CCRN but now I have put it on hold.

These forums are such a great resource! Thanks to all the old posters for imparting your knowledge.

I have will be starting at Oregon Health and Science University in the fall of 2007!!!

I can never find anyone who has any information about this school!

How is it going?

I am thinking about moving to Portland but dont want to get comfy there and then have to relocate in 2 years when I get into CRNA school. Would love to apply to OHSU and stay put.

I heard it's a tough program to get into- and I never see anyone on board talking about it to tell me otherwise.

If you don't mind me being so nosy...

1) what were your application stats like?

2) what was the interview process like?

3) How do you like the program?

4) Do you have to fight with the medical residents to get cases?

5) Are you doing the DNP? What's the deal with that?

THANKS THANKS THANK in advance if you actually answer this post.

Which you may not bc I'm sure your busy.

Cheers-

Maybe it's a good thing I haven't heard from TCU yet. I have a half marathon tomorrow morning, and if I don't get accepted, I know that would really get into my head during the race. So, I will enjoy my race then hang out with friends to watch the Charger-Patriot game, with the tremendous hopes that next week will bear good news! My birthday is Tuesday, and getting into TCU would be the best birthday present ever!

:shbdy: Have a great race, and don't sweat it!! I know that's easier said than done.

Thanks Pedsccrn! My race was really fun! There were 10,000 runners (8,000 half marathoners and 2,000 marathoners). I love all the little kids on the sidelines at the races...they get sooo excited! My birthday was bitter-sweet, because I was in a mandatory education class for 8 hours :zzzzz, and just kept daydreaming about the content of my TCU letter. Congrats on getting into TCU! My mail hasn't come yet today, so I'm still thinking positive thoughts. :hngon:
