Who interviewed at UTHSC Houston?

Nursing Students SRNA

Soooo. . . Had my interview at uthsc houston. . . didn't feel that it went horrible, but honestly I have no idea how it went really. Everybody was nice, so like I said it wasn't horrible. And for sure if I have to interview there next year (preparing myself for the worst) I'll be much more relaxed and confident after having already done it once :) Who else had interviews? how did you think it went? while I was there I kept wondering if I'd 'met' any other applicants before via the chat rooms. Ah, then anonymity (spell?) of the internet. This one was fairly light on clinical I thought, so now I'm REALLY nervous about other interviews. YIKES!

Hope everybody had a good experience at the interview and good luck!

Hi there. I interviewed as well at UT. Felt the same as you- difficult to read the interviewing committee. Everyone was nice- was expecting the interview to be more clinical based than it was. Did you apply anywhere else?

Did you ask them any questions at the end of the interview?

I had five questions written down to ask them (because I knew my brain would have fallen out by the end of the interview) but I got all of the questions answered while we talked with the students in the waiting room. In fact, that's what I told the committee when they asked if I had any questions :) Not sure if that was 'good' or 'bad' or what but I did and that's that.

I'm also interviewing at Baylor and I'm freaking out about it even more now that the other is over. Which is funny because you'd think I'd be less nervous since I've already done one. I think now it's the thought that I still have no idea what a Baylor interview will be like even though I've done one already. I don't know. Just general freaking out I guess.

These next few weeks will be torture. I want to kno NOW if I got in or not so I can either (1) start planning for school or (2) start planning to reapply :) After the interview I wanted to just be like "Look, just tell me now if you don't want me, it won't hurt my feelings, I just want to know so I can start planning the next step!"

They asked me that, "if you don't get in this year what will you do?" Does that mean they already don't want me?!?!? AHHHHH!!! Man, it's going to be a loooooong 2 to 3 wks.

I interviewed at UT-Houston last Thursday as well, and that wait is pretty torturing... It hasn't even been a wk and I've been dying to find out for the longest time it seems. Does anyone happen to know how many ppl were interviewed?

Woohoo ;) Found out today that I got into UT's CRNA Program ;)

The admissions decisions have been posted on UT Link, if you guys didn't know already. Good Luck!!

Whoo HOO!!!! Found out today as well I was accepted to UT HOUSTON!!

I am SOOOOOO HAPPY!!!

Congratulations to everyone accepted! Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

YESSSSS!!!! I'm in too. Hey SRNA2009 we're going to be classmates. Anyone know how many are in our class. When I talked to the current students at the interview they said there were only 10 last year and 18 the year before. I'm beyond excited. Did yours say, "You have been granted provisional admission. Admission letter is in the mail."?

Oh you're KILLING ME! it's after 10pm and the site is down for the evening! I can't look until tomorrow. I'm bracing myself for the let down of not getting in :( I just don't know how I did in the interview and if my experience and transcripts were good enough.

If I don't get in I'm going ask them what I need to do to be that person they pick, you know? I mean, I'll get more experience obviously because it will be one year later. I don't know if maybe I should retake classes I took long, long ago in a university far far away. . . before I even knew I wanted to be a nurse. I have not the best grades in organic I and II, and biochem I and II. That was back when I was fairly aimless and had decided I didn't like the degree I was getting and just wanted to graduate and GET OUT. I mentioned that in my interview-- although much more eloquently (I hope!)-- that for my first degree I was young, away from home for the first time, and didn't really have a goal or plan at the time. My nursing grades are nicer though. But you know, I was kind of let down by my nursing education. I really thought there would be more 'hard science' in it, more physiology and anatomy and stuff, but that's a whole other story.

Wow, okay, so much for a short post. I think I'm trying to console myself early and organize my plans in the event that I'm not accepted this year. Thanks for listening everybody! Good luck and congratulations to all those who have gotten accepted. And good luck and hugs and possibly a stiff drink or five for those who have to reapply. We'll all get there some day! :typing: (I just love the little typing guy, makes me smile every time I see him!)

On UTLink mine says: "You have been admitted to the program for the term shown above."

The class that started in Fall2008 had 22 students, I think.

Congrat's to all who got in!!!! I found out as well yesterday and will be classmates with you all!!!! Can't wait to meet everybody!!!!

Now I'm really worried, and confused. So some say 'admission' and some say 'provisional'? What's up with that? they're just trying to be difficult :)

Are they going to post on UTLINK if we're not accepted? Mine still says pending!!! I think I'm going to go crazy, yes, crazy, completely crazy. Dang, I had pending.
