Hey everybody,

I am finishing my prereqs so I can apply to CRNA schools come September. I live in southern California. I am looking for an online combo class for Organic, Inorganic, and biochem. I heard of a couple but can't find info on them or the site isn't working. USC requires 1 semester of all 3 without lab, and they can be combined. The other 3 schools that would allow me to stay in this area (Kaiser CSUF, Loma Linda, Texas Wesleyan) don't even have these as a requirement, so if I can find this all together in 1 class online I would be set. Any input greatly appreciated!

I have a intro to general chem course through a school not too far from you (RCC). I don't live too far from you. I ended up taking a combined organic/inorganic course through Weber state which was 100% online and had a lab included. Cost was like $1300 though. They have an online general (inorganic) course as well. Most schools I've contacted say this is acceptable. The only school that said this wasn't acceptable was MTSA because they want a non-introductory general chemistry course. They told me all online courses are acceptable as long as it was a general non-introductory chem course. I decided I would hate to go to school in Tennessee anyways.

LLU accepts chems that are taken as prerequisite courses for their program (introductory level), TWU has a basic chem course you can take when you're accepted which satisfies their chem requirement. I have been told by coworkers in the program that it is not difficult at all. CSUF doesn't even have chem listed as an admission requirement, but the program is still crazy competitive (they get something like 700+ apps). USC on the other hand...I'm not so sure about.

Thanks for the reply! I'll take a look at weber state. That sounds perfect. I can do the biochem through integrated science program in 1 month. TWU does have that course and I hear it is a great prelim to what you do in the program, but I need the sciences for USC, and as you mentioned, it just gives you 1 up on someone without them. I appreciate the help!

I will, and if you could do the same that would be great. I saw an old post about Coastal community college in Newport but they don't have the combo class anymore.

Chem 1120 at weber state is organic and biochem combined. I never asked usc is they accept it. The program's I'm interested in do accept it. Chem 1110 is general Chem.

Thanks for that. I talked to them yesterday and CHEM 1050 is intro to organic and bio. 1120 requires the prereq that I think is 1110. Unfortunately they don't have inorganic online. I will contact USC this morning and find out if the 1050 intro course satisfies their requirement. I think Coastal community college has inorganic online. I'll check that again too and post back today with the info.

Did they tell you ?

Sorry, no new news. I didn't have time to contact Coastline before my shift, and the lady at USC that deals with all this never answered my email or calls, so I'm assuming she wasn't in today. I will try again tomorrow. They said my microbiology satisfies the biology requirement. I'm gonna push and see if the gen chem will satisfy the inorganic portion.
