Organic, Inorganic, Biochem online combo

Nursing Students SRNA

Hey everybody,

I am finishing my prereqs so I can apply to CRNA schools come September. I live in southern California. I am looking for an online combo class for Organic, Inorganic, and biochem. I heard of a couple but can't find info on them or the site isn't working. USC requires 1 semester of all 3 without lab, and they can be combined. The other 3 schools that would allow me to stay in this area (Kaiser CSUF, Loma Linda, Texas Wesleyan) don't even have these as a requirement, so if I can find this all together in 1 class online I would be set. Any input greatly appreciated!

Im planning to take Physic at coastline community college during this summer.

I took Intro Chem. Wish that there's a intro course that is a combo of Organic, Inorganic, and Biochem.

I'm planning to take Advanced Physiology since I did not ace this course 7 years ago.

Try to apply and get a job in a Teaching Hospital- level 1 or 2 trauma/Surgical ICU, to be more competitive.

Specializes in Critical Care/ICU, Trauma.

Everything you can get at a community college is great to keep the cost down. I'm at a level 2 trauma center now that is known for its acuity. I'm in ER/Trauma and just recently started ICU so I now satisfy the requirements for all 4 schools that will allow me to stay here and not move. The ICU is a mixed Trauma, surgical, medical, cardiac, and neuro. There are some REALLY sick patients there. I have a friend there that just got accepted to Columbia and is waiting to here from Kaiser about his interview last week. His USC interview is the 19th. He said everyone was impressed with the work experience.

Shasta College has an online general, organic, and biochem, and I don't think there are labs. It is CHEM 26 and does not require prereqs. The only thing is they aren't sure if they are offering it in the fall yet or not, and it is not being offered in the summer. They should know by the beginning of March. Ill call again tomorrow and see what they are waiting for. I sent the syllabus to USC and my contact emailed me back and said it satisfies their requirements for the combined chem. I am still trying to clear the Weber program with them as a back up. Here is the link to Shasta.

I found CHEM 130- Iowa Central College- 650$, so expensive for Out-of-states students, and USC accepts it too.

Physic at Coastline, the school offers courses during summer.

Please keep me posted. Thank you mrdearmas

Is the CHEM 130 a combo for all 3?

So I was just looking at Iowa, and that is just O chem and biochem. And it required 110 as a prereq, which could possibly satisfy inorganic, but I would have to check. Either way, that is 2 classes instead of 1. The Weber class looks identical to the Shasta one except it has labs, so it should qualify for all 3 as well. I'll make some calls tomorrow.

I haven't found out if Weber works for USC yet. I did talk with Shasta and they don't plant to offer the course until next spring (2017), and it's not a guarantee. It is possible to wait until then, but it would be best to get it done in the fall. I'm going to work on the Weber info tomorrow.

hey mrdearmas, do you work at inland valley? That's the trauma center around the Temecula area right?

Specializes in Critical Care/ICU, Trauma.

I do not work at Inland Valley. You are correct, that is the trauma center near temecula. I work at orange county global medical center in santa ana. I went there for the acuity, plus inland valley wanted to do a long new grad program and it wasn't starting for a few months when I was getting a job. I have a couple friends at Inland

Take a look at National University. I hear their program is pretty good and clinicals really prepare you for the real world.

oregon state university distance learning has a combo of inorganic/organic/biochem, bit pricey but at least you get it all done. I've never done it, but it's offered there
