Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Specializes in CCRN, ALS, BLS, PALS.

I've read through a few posts and replies on people wanting to know if their "stats" are enough to get them into CRNA school. Most of the time when people answer these questions though, it seems like people only say what can be done to improve their chances.

What I'm looking for is simply whether or not you or someone you know has "stats" close to mine or worse that have gotten into a CRNA program. I feel like I'm right on the fence of whether or not I'd be accepted.

GRE- 1200

ICU exp.- 1 year NeuroICU, 1 year Cardio/General ICU, along with 6 months extra ICU PRN work

GPA- 3.143 (All A&P classes & labs are A's, nursing wasn't too hot but passable)

CERTS- BSN, BLS, ALS, PALS, CCRN

Obviously, the GPA is the portion in most question. I do not really care which CRNA school I go to, I'm willing to go most anywhere. If you or someone you know has been accepted with similar attributes, please let me know where they went to school and when it was.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Moved to Pre-CRNA forum.

I requested that this post be moved to nurse forum because im in looking specifically for a CRNAs answer. My wish to be moved back to nurse forum (this is the second time ive been moved) was honored by "TheCommuter".

Specializes in Education, FP, LNC, Forensics, ED, OB.

This IS in the nurse forum. Specifically the Pre-CRNA forum, where CRNAs will come along and assist you especially since you need feedback from CRNAs.

And..posters in the General Nursing forum won't be able to answer you as you are asking very specific questions.

Yes, I have heard of CRNAs getting with lower GPAs then yours. I would suggest taking a couple of graduate level classes (patho, pharm, etc.) and an undergraduate biochemistry. You need to make A's in all of them and show the School(s) that you are interested in applying to that you are able to do graduate level work.

By the way this is the CRNA forum, and there are only a few of us on here that regularly post that could answer your question. I personally don't spend too much time looking at the other nursing forums so your question would have probably went unanswered or answered by someone who does not actually know the answer to your question.

Your stats look pretty good to me. In fact better than mine and I got in. People think students need to stellar in every aspect of their resume but if your personality doesn't mix with the interviewer you ain't getting in. Just because you are smart does not mean you can take care of sick patients.

which school did you get accepted to? If you do not feel comfortable revealing that, which state is your CRNA school in?

BTW thanks for the encouragement!
