Wow...I can't believe it's only been been 3 1/2 months! It feels like it's been at least a year. But finally, a few hours ago today, I took my last final and finished my first semester of CRNA... Read More

wow you are off running this semester/quarter! congrats! i worry as well about letting the little things go, realizing that everyone is going to be type a and not letting it bother me. i am not that much of a type a in general, like things to flow smoothly with little drama, and hate hate conflict. I know it is going to be hard to handle clinical for me. I will need to do some yoga or meditation every day to try to destress!

Naples because my whole family lives here. I'm more familiar with the healthcare system too. The students at the other clinical sites are more autonomous, but I find that I see more variety of cases than they do. I have about 30-40 more cases than my friend who's in Tampa.

My friend actually does yoga everyday to help her out with the stress. I'm not sure how she does it, I can barely feed myself after clinicals let alone do anything remotely athletic. I do practice mantras and positive visualization. It seems to help. But to be honest, 90% of my class is on antidepressants of some form or another.

Congrats on completing your first semester! I am just completing the RN to BSN (will be finished in June). I then have to take organic chemistry in the fall but Wolford said I could apply before completing that class. I have the GRE scheduled for the end of August but will probably move to end of July so I can apply for the Spring semester. I have been an ICU nurse for almost 8 years now! The first 2.5 years were spent in a smaller hospital in a medical ICU. I was then a travel nurse for about 4 years and worked in various settings including medical, surgical, surgical/trauma, and neuro ICUs. I now work in a surgical ICU at a university hospital. My overall GPA is 3.88, 8 years ICU experience, and ACLS. I am wondering what the turn around time was for Wolford to receive your GRE results after you took the exam and how soon before they contacted your for interview. The spring deadline is October and I am cutting this really close! Any advice would be great!

It was about 3-4 weeks before the contacted me for an interview. It may be less if the starting semester you are applying for is sooner rather than later. Congratulations on all of your nursing experience!

This may have been asked but are there older students in the program. Say, in their 50's?

We have two ladies in my class that are in their 40's. I know the class behind me has a guy who is probably close to 50 if not older. Most of the students are on their early 30's and a handful of us are in our 20's.

Thanks! If it doesn't happen for me to start in February I am ok with starting in October! The most important thing is that I get in!!
