For the ACNP you probably will find preceptors more easily than for an FNP. If you are strong in reading and self-directed study, you will find you can manage the work.

I'm a student in their FNP program. I do not feel as if there is much support, especially with finding preceptors. I've been trying to find a women's health preceptor for months! The struggle is real! Best of luck!!

I've been in the AG-ACNP track for the last 6 quarters. I have no complaints. Do not expect any help from advising, especially for finding preceptors. Know your deadlines and give yourself 4 extra weeks to meet them: my paperwork for clinicals is due at the end of this month; I finally found a preceptor 2 weeks ago who would take me on for the primary care rotation, after looking for 3 months. If you are in a highly populated area with lots of medical practices obviously your chances may be higher. This program requires you to be highly self-driven and motivated, no one is going to hold your hand through this. You are basically expected to teach yourself by reading the books and completing the assignments. Looking at the class roster, I see we usually lose 2-3 students each quarter; each online class is about 20 students. Overall the Walden experience seems to be "you get what you put in". I'm curious to see what their post-graduation employment rate is.

I am thinking of applying to the ag-acnp program for the July start. They have been very impressive to speak with and I have had several people recommend it. Is there anyone else out there who may be starting then?

I am in my 4th quarter of their FNP program. Don't expect much support or to learn anything that you don't teach yourself.

I completely agree. You're only going to get out of the program what you want to get out of it. Their primary focus is on paper writing and APA format. Utilize any and ALL resources that you have available to you, especially during clinicals. I'm in my second clinical of four, let me know if you need anything! Best of luck!

I've heard that a lot but I believe that unless you sit in a lecture a few times a week that most learning depends on the student. I've done a lot of online schooling and find that it is just a part of it. My only worry is the creditability when it comes time to find a job. Online programs are so new and not as widely accepted. But I dont have many programs to choose from that would allow me to work.

I start my program nov 27 for the agacnp track. The recruiter told me You're able to finish the program in 24 months or less. Is his true? Has anyone finished the program in 24months or less?
