USA Fall 2015

Nursing Students NP Students

Has anyone applied to South Alabama's Fall 2015 program? I applied to the FNP program. I see from other threads that Nursing CAS recalculates your GPA (usually lower than expected). I can't figure out how to see their GPA calculation. Is anyone else able to see this?

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Yes you have to download the file once they notify you that they have finished calculating your GPA. They told me that you need at least 3.4 to get in for FNP. I applied to the dual role fnp/ ag acnp for the fall.

Larry, Thanks for the information! I can see my GPA now.

Just curious, where did you hear 3.4? I have over that pre-nursing CAS recalculation, but have heard they usually recalculate it lower and haven't seen my GPA on there yet. The USA website says 3.0 required for admission.

They take every grade from every college you have ever attended. Then they calculate just using your nursing specific classes. BTW you wont hear until the very LAST minute whether you got in or not, so don't fret if you don't hear something until the beginning of August.

I emailed their admission advisor a copy of my transcripts... My nursing GPA alone is a 3.3 and she highly recommended me apply and not take additional classes because I have a good chance at getting accepted. They obviously look at more than grades or they would just have us submit out transcripts :))

I emailed them and I physically went there and talked to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). He said that the lowest GPA that is accepted for FNP varies each semester and that the previous semester the lowest they accepted was 3.5. Then I received two email replies basically saying 3.3 or 3.4 was about the right GPA to get accepted. 3.0 is the minimum for applying, but does not mean you will be accepted.
