Nursing Students NP Students

Hello! I just wanted to know if anyone here has attended TJU for their NP program. I am planning on enrolling for either their FNP or WHNP (haven't decided yet) and would love to know what you think of the program.

They are accredited and have a 95% pass rate for their boards. However, I cannot find online whether we have to find our own clinical placements or not. Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)

One of my coworkers is currently at TJU for her FNP and I swear that she told me that she had to find her own preceptors.

I have applied to TJU for start date of Jan 2016. It is my understanding that we are responsible for finding our own preceptors. This is pretty standard for most schools that I've looked at. I am supposed to start two classes this week as a non-matric student but I am not pleased with the lack of communication and instruction I have received so far. If I hadn't contacted them I still would not have heard any word about these two classes. I am concerned this will be the case if I get accepted into the program. I've heard great things about the school but this scares me a little. What semester do you plan to enroll?

Hi nurselacich. Wondering if you are still attending TJU for their FNP program? You mentioned in this 2015 post that you were taking some classes as a non-matriculated student and then possibly starting TJU's FNP in 2016? Any thoughts on TJU's Nurse Practitioner programs would be so helpful.

I am really interested in their ONLINE NP program. Do you have any insights on their online NP programs? Thanks!

I am a current student attending Thomas Jefferson in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program. If you live within the 90 minute radius of the campus, they do provide clinical placement for all students. This is huge as many students sit out for a semester or two. The core classes are online, and relatively easy. When you approach the 3 P's, patho, pharm, and physical assessment, you are required to attend campus for testing (patho and pharm) and for assessment. These classes tend to be heavy and require much studying. Overall, I don't regret my decision. At times the program is disorganized as most NP programs are. Hey there, I officially submitted May 12th for Jefferson's Acute Care NP program and wondering how long it took you to hear back in regards to your acceptance? I know it hasn't been a lot of time but I'm super impatient. :)

Would appreciate any info in regards to your application process.

I just received my acceptance into the acute care NP program with Thomas Jefferson. Does Dr. Zukowsky teach any of the classes? Also, is the faculty helpful when you reach out to them for help. Do they provide some lab time before sending the students out for clinical? Can I email you directly if I have more questions instead of using allnurses website? Do we need to have PA license to continue with the program?

Hi, my application went under review in late March and I heard back by April 2. It took 2 weeks for me. Maybe it was faster because I was rejected. Although my GPA is a 3.6, they rejected me for getting a C+ on one of my BSN courses.
