Hello everyone. I am currently looking for an FNP program that offers distance learning and only looks at your GPA for the last 60 hours. I currently live in the DC area. My overall GPA is underwhelming at a 3.11. My last 60 hours are a little over a 3.7. I know GMU only looks at last 60, but I've heard they are extremely competitive. I'm willing to go to class occasionally if the school is in the DC area. Otherwise, I need it to be all online. I applied to the University of South Alabama and was denied because they stopped accepting people at 3.2. They've asked me to rollover my application for Summer and provide a goals statement, which I plan on doing. Just trying to explore my options. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Apply to Duke University. It is a great school. They do require the GRE if your GPA is lower than 3.4. However, I knew a few people who got in even though they had a 3.0. Good luck.

Specializes in ER.

The school I go to looks at the last 60 hours and is mostly online. There is a residency first semester which is like 2 or 3 days and there is another residency which is 3 or 4 days but that involves learning and practicing skills. They hire a company with medical models to help students learn pelvic exams and other skills. Otherwise it is online.
