Hi Im new to the forum. I am looking to apply to FNU fnp program by Jan 2015. My question is about prereq's. I have taken a health assessment class not sure if thats the same as physical assessment however I was wondering if I apply and they dont accept my course will I have to reapply and submit references and everything all over again after I successfully finish the course or will they just keep all my stuff on hold until I finish the class? Im just worried about having to get new references or write a new essay if they dont accept my prereqs .

You will need to contact admissions to get help with those questions. They are the only ones who would know if the class your old university is calling 'health assessment' is the same as 'physical assessment'. I do not know the process for how non-matriculating students get accepted into a class and if that requires a full admissions packet or if any/all of the prior one can be used. You can find contact info on frontiers website, or you can join their facebook page and message them that way. They welcome these kinds of queries and I have not known them to bite yet!

Okay thanks for your response

I am in a similar situation. I have a statistics class that is outdated and I will have to repeat the class in order to apply to FNU. It is my understanding that the class will need to be completed before I can submit an application package. I have researched other schools that do not require a repeat of this class, but I do not have the same gut feeling about them as I do about FNU. I can't put my finger on it, but I feel this is the right fit for me. All of my e-mail correspondence with staff has been very friendly and informative.

Yeah I have a good feeling about FNU as well I really hope I can get in. Its does suck when you have to redo classes that you've already taken. However if they don't accept my PA course I guess that's just what Ill have to do. I say if that's where you really want to go you may need to consider retaking stats. Good luck with everything!

I just went through this issue. I took a Health Assessment (400 level) course for my BSN but thought the same thing when I saw physical assessment. Just email them with your course name and number and the school you took it at and they will email you back. They were very quick about it. Mine was through UOP and it qualified. The Health assessment at GCU also works. Good luck.

Does UOP stand for University of Phoenix? I obtained my BSN through them and was wondering if the assessment course was adequate for Frontier. I'm hoping to submit my application within the month. Have you been accepted to Frontier?

I'm looking into Frontier also but have to repeat statistics b/c it is over 10 years old. Has anyone here taken statistics at Frontier? am I better off taking it at a local community college?
