Flu Vaccine for 2018-19

I need to pre-order my flu vaccine for next year. My school has done a flu vaccine clinic for the faculty and employees for years and I have continued this. This is my first year as a school nurse and this year's vaccines were ordered last March by my predecessor. This is not in my skill set yet. I narrowed my choices down to quadrivalent, and preservative free, and age appropriate pre filled syringes. Now I'm left with 5 choices that all seem similar.

If you are knowledgeable in this sort of thing may you offer some ideas on how you choose what you choose?

I think you are on the right track. Is there any difference in what is left? I.E. allergens (egg), storage, etc? I had always given flulaval and fluzone in peds primary care (VFC contract and hospital contract) but this year our school clinic gave flucelvax, which is egg free.

Sadly, we don't do this.

My answer would be, "Ask my medical director what he wants to order, then discuss.'

The ones I have left all appear the same, just different brands. That was what makes it hard for me, is one brand better or worse. While I don't have egg allergies to consider, your information is making me favor the flucelvax as it's actually the least expensive choice. Since they all seem similar the price will be the deciding factor and the egg free part is an added bonus.
