Is it in parts of the world that has no health care ? I read some people work on indian reservations...but where else can you work?

I live in the Ozark Mountain area of Southern Missouri. Our hospital has 220 beds and includes ER, ICU, OB/GYN, Peds, Mental Health, Urology, Medical, Surgery, Comprehensive Cardiac program, Physical Rehab and Ortho floors. My hometown has a population of 16,000. However, we have the ONLY hospital in a 75 mile radius. We care for patients from 6 different counties and man do we stay busy. Our yearly ER visits topped 35,000 last year and this year it has been even busier! :smokin:

If I had to take a guess, I would say you were talking about Rolla. I vacation down that way. Nice place.

I loved reading about everyones hospitals! I love being a rural nurse or in my case a "bush" nurse :) Its a rural rural 60 bed hospital that includes OB, M/S adults and peds, ER, and an out patient clinic. We do have a x-ray, CT, lab and pharmacy but often times we do everything! We are about 400 miles away to the nearest hospital and that is only by plane. I love it! I love the variety of patients of love seeing peds, prenatal's, adults, geriatrics. I love it all. I also enjoy traveling to the village clinics it keeps me on my toes.
