CCRI Spring (Jan) start.. a few questions

This is my first post to this site :) Everytime I would Google a question, this site would come up, so I figured I should join and maybe pick some of your brains. :redpinkhe

I've been researching different nursing programs because I'm leaving my career of 11 years to finally fulfill a dream that I've had for a long time. I'm currently finishing up the pre-reqs (I'm taking Anatomy/Phys, Dosage, Health Careers this summer and Micro in the fall).

My question is, I will not have my Micro grade until the end of the fall semester. I know that I need all of my pre-reqs completed to apply. Will I still be able to apply for the spring start at CCRI? I've seen a few posts about an "open application session" in the beginning of January. What are the odds of getting in that late?

I'm afraid that I'm killing myself trying to take all of these classes this summer when BCC (for example) does not require the Dosage or Health Careers class. I could just concentrate on the BIOs this summer/fall and hopefully get into BCC, Massasoit or Brockton Hospital next fall (2011). I've been going back and forth. I'd hate to take on too much and effect my GPA. Decisions, decisions...

So, after my rambling... does anyone know about the January "open application session" for the Spring start at CCRI?

Thank you so much!!!

I am sooooooo nervous! I know im competing with a bunch of dedicated students. lol All the students in my prerequisite night classes were Acing everything! I think its going to be a tough application period. Early Congrats to Everyone who gets in!

lol now im even more nervous! I got the occasional A's but I recieved B's and one C aswell. I was talking to one of the nursing teachers and they had said that February was one of the less competitive ones to get in oppose to the open application periods they hold in June, July and August or even October like they did in the previous year. I hope we all get in, as they said they had a hard time filling the seats! last fall/spring. FINGERS CROSSED :)

I hope we get accepted to the lincoln evening program this fall!

Marissa - Don't be nervous, i'm in Nursing I this semester and I got in with Mostly Bs and one C, my gpa was 3.4. I applied with past october and they called me late november. Good Luck!

hahah thank you mgalano! I have the same gpa aswell with dencent grades. How is the program so far? is it all you expected/hoped for ? I really want to get into the program and with it being so competitive im nervous but at the same time I am really really excited!! Now its all about waiting for that email.lol

I hate the waiting process! You're all making me want to apply for Lincoln so that we'll all be together, lol. My micro class FINALLY transferred over from BCC, so my degree eval says "nursing day - MET". WHOOOHOOOO! I've been waiting so long for it to just say that!

I'm going to drop my application off tomorrow. Fingers crossed that we all get wonderful emails in the next month 1/2!

hahaha YAY FINGERS CROSSED!!! good luck!

The program is hard, its a balancing act at first, with my daughter and still working. Didn't do as well as I wanted on the first exam so im studying extra hard for this next one!

I applied to the program last year to get into the class for spring 2010 but i recieved a rejection letter. I am curretly taking dosage and intro to health over again and applied in feb for the fall 2011 semester. I only have 3 classes that go towars my gpa which is 2.9 because all my other grades have transferd i have mostly b's im worried. Is this not good enough?

Just received my acceptance letter. I've also been accepted to BCC which I will be attending because it's much closer to my home. Good luck everyone!

Check your CCRI email!! :-)

I meant, "acceptance email". It was in my CCRI email that I was accepted into the fall, day program.

Congrats! All the best!

Did you apply for Warwick or Prov? Days or nights?
