L&D nights vs. OBGYN office job
I've been in an OBGYN office for 5 years and just made the switch to LDRP this month. I was working 24h in the office, 830-5pm. I really wanted to go FT but dreaded M-F. I like having weekdays to do errands, kids appts, etc. I had been applying for a hospital position in LDRP for a while and FINALLY got a call back. I started at the office as a new grad so I had no hospital experience. I was hired for 36h 11a-11p. So far i'm loving it way more than the office. I will miss the education I get to provide throughout the 9 months of prenatal care but love all the hands on. The office is way more low key but I love being able to work FT in 3 days and getting FT benefits.

Pursuing MSN after online rn to bsn
Yes I did just look that up but I think I want to stick with my BSN first then take some time off then pursue MSN. I can only do things is small amounts, I have a child with cancer so I never know when a hospital stay will happen or other things. I am now looking into Capella as they have less math - and I am horrible with math!
- What is the new grad salary in the lifespan hospitals??

Pursuing MSN after online rn to bsn
I'm starting at Chamberlain soon for my RN to BSN, will I have any trouble getting my MSN somewhere else because this is an online school? As far as credits go and such. Thank you!

Cost of BSN
LunahRN - When I was talking to the advisor on the phone I asked him.. if I needed some of the liberal arts courses could I just take them at my local CC to save money. He said he doesn't not recommend that because they would not know if it would transfer until after I am done with them. I figured he just has to say that to try to get me to just take them there. Also with the CLEP testing...I would not pass a test on stats or economics.. I have no exposure to those classes at all lol so I don't think that is an option.

Cost of BSN
Thanks - I've taken a million classes at a Community College but of course.. not one history or stats or economics. So i'm afraid ill need to take a lot of their liberal arts classes, therefore increasing the overall price. But you can get it done so quick and this place has great reviews!! ah... what to do... They call me tonight with my fasfa and transcript info so we will see.

Cost of BSN
Thank you for that info - an advisor called me back and told me it could be anywhere from 18,000-27,000 depending on what liberal arts classes I need. Is that a normal price for a BSN?

How much money can I expect the RN to BSN online program to be?? Ball park. Also - I'm checking on their website and it shows which nursing courses are required - but where is the course list that you also have to complete for admission? Trying to figure out how long it would take me to finish. I have contacted an admission advisor just waiting to hear back. I've heard great things about this place so i'm really looking into it.. I want to start ASAP!

RN to BSN questions
Hi - Just graduated in December with my ADN, passed NCLEX, just got first job... now I want to start my rn to bsn program.. but which one? I can't find any solid reviews of online programs. At first I was going to go with Capella .. but now i'm considering Walden. Will having an online BSN degree hinder me at all? I really want to get this BSN over with as fast as possible but not overwhelm myself. Please if you can give me any insight to online rn to bsn programs.. or if you can point me in the right direction.. thanks!

Has anyone ever gotten "the good pop up" and failed?
How early can you try the trick?? I take my NCLEX-RN tomorrow at 8am.

Ccri Spring 2013 admission
Wow congrats to everyone! Seems like just yesterday I was on here talking to others about getting accepted, but it was really this time 2 years ago... I applied in the October 2010 ,for spring 2011 lincoln, period and heard back of my acceptance around thanksgiving. I cant even believe they won't be having an october app period. Things have changed so much since I was accepted, I was accepted first try with a 3.4 gpa and they didn't have this point system. It all goes by so fast and those who didn't get accepted I know some people who got accepted second time without retaking classes. It truly is a wonderful program and I am very excited to be graduating in december from this program! (well fingers crossed.. still have to finish nursing 5 ;] ) GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!
