Pass NCLEX and now WHAAT?!

I recently passed my NCLEX last june 12th. It was nerve racking since it was my second time taking it. My expectations are low and I do not know how to do it. I keep myself calm and compose during the exam, I always think that I will pass. AND I DID!!!! I am so happy and all my hardships are paid off. But now that I passed, my next problem is having a job. I already submit my 11 applications for different position but I received no response. I am getting frustrated each day coz I really what to work and help my parents and move out and have my own place. Guys, what should i do to help me land a job? HELP ME! :(

It's only been two weeks. A lot of people send out hundreds of applications in order to get that job. I would begin widening your search base and start applying to at least 10 positions a day. If you go to the first career page, you will see people commenting it took them months to get their first nursing job or whether they should work as a CNA in the meantime. There isn't a nursing shortage due to the economy crashing and more students graduating and nurses not leaving the field. So 11 applications isn't really enough given the amount of people that talk about their experience. I'd aim for a lot more.

For my 2nd job, I applied to about 100 different positions.

I am in your shoes, too. What helped me land a few interviews was calling to follow up on my applications. As long as it does not say "Do not call" or something along those lines...go for it. Give them about a week before you call.

Keep at it! It took me 2 months to find a job. Search classifieds, and what I did was go to the facility personally and give my resume to HR or the DON. This makes you look really good and eager. Dress up! You will stand out better in person than just by a resume you emailed. Good luck dear!

The hospital I was accepted at took a month and a half to call me for an interview, and another month to have me get all the paperwork and orientation in before I hit the floor. I wouldn't worry, it takes a while sometimes, especially at places that tend to be flooded with applications.

To give you an idea of what I did before that, though, I applied at at least 100 positions and accepted a PRN one that in the meantime. Seriously, my resume was everywhere, and I didn't get callbacks on any but maybe three, at least a month after applying.
