A second bachelors? BSN Question

Hi,

I have a question regarding students who've graduated with a bachelor's in something other than nursing. Is there a list of programs for BSN (accelerated, what not) specific for someone who already has a bachelor's in another area? It seems like the programs I've seen are only for undergraduates, or people who want to become a nurse straight out of high school. For example, I graduated from UCSD with a biology major. I do want to go to nursing school, but I don't need the 4 years because I already have a B.S., but the only school that I know that has the accelerated program is Johns Hopkins. So I feel like I'm kind of stuck. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you looked at programs called Entry Level Masters? I had a B.S. in Biology and went through a program took 15 months to become an RN, followed by 12 months to finish with a Masters. It was the best "bang for my buck" so to speak. Not sure if you're open to move but there are definitely a lot more of these programs out there now.

Marian University in Indianapolis has a second degree program. Not sure where you live- but 's pre-licensure seems like it would be a good option also.

I attended an accelerated nursing program right after my first undergrad degrees, and I can't imagine spending more than 12 months on the content. I think the length of the programs vary from 12 to 15 months at least in my city. Good luck to you!

There are many programs at brick-and-mortar schools that offer BS-BSN or BS-MSN programs, in San Diego as well.
