I went to a Christian high school, but it wasn't accredited. I took the GED in 1991. Should I submit both my high school transcripts, and my GED scores to the college?

i would say both, but you should contact the college to see what they want.

They said that either or both would be fine.

Somehow I have the more is better mentality going on here. Now if I can just get someone at my former high school to answer the phone. :angryfire

I am in a similar situation as you. I am unable to obtain any of my high school transcripts from my small private school, seeing that they have closed down. No one knows where the files were sent.

My college told me that they use transcripts to see what type of student you are and to help place you in the correct courses. I can say that I didn't really try in highschool so I usually had B's and that is not the type of student I am since starting college. I took placement test that put me in a higher math and english than they would have based on my transcripts.

Over all the years of being in the work force using math and helping my kids with their homework I actually learned quite a bit, so I benefited by not having transcripts.

If you took chemistry or biology in high school they may be able to consider those toward your prereq's for the nursing, our school does that.

Just a thought!

Aaaargh! They called back while I was at school today and they're sending my transcripts to my college. I really wanted to see them first. A woman that I graduated from high school with told me that our principal documented the most ridiculous things on her transcripts. The principal actually documented that my friend wore eyeliner to school on a particular day. :uhoh3: Yes, my principal was a doozy. I wonder if she documented the time I left school angry and did a burn out? :lol2:

Oh well, it's done and over with now.

Beth, that stinks about not knowing the whereabouts of your high school records. I guess what they don't know won't hurt you. ;) (just joking) I did take Biology, Chemistry, and Geometry in high school, but my college only considers classes taken in the past four years.
