Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone, my name is Hannah and I am currently completing pre-req's at the University of Louisville. I know admission to the University of Louisville Upper Division Nursing is competitive, but I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted there or has talked to advisors knows what the cutoff GPA is? My estimated GPA (based on what I know I will probably receive in the few classes I have left) is around a 3.15. I hope that isn't too low to be accepted, as Nursing is something I really want! So does anyone have information on GPA's accepted. And do these include that .2 GPA advantage to students who completed all classes in Lower division?

Thanks!!!

Hi Hannah-

I'm currently in UD at UofL. Upper Division acceptance is heavily dependent on your lower division GPA, not as much on cumulative. My lower division GPA was 3.65. From what I've heard, how well you do on Patho and Pharm is also looked at carefully since it's more indicative of how well you can handle nursing classes. The advisors for the program are extremely helpful and they should be able to give you more specific GPA numbers and cutoffs. Hope this helped and good luck!!
