Transferring Schools Please Help!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Ok so I need some advice. Let me explain my situation. I am currently enrolled at my community college with intentions to apply to an MA program, however me and my fiance are wanting to live together. He lives in one state I live in another, now I have researched the college nursing program requirements for the school I want to attend. I know that in getting a Medical Assisting degree, I wont have as many oportunities as I would nursing. I am currently enrolled to do summer courses at my college and I have almost all pre reqs and general education courses complete to transfer to the other school. The exception is microbiology, chemistry and life span development. My question is would it be wise to stay and complete my MA degree in the state I live or would I benefit more to transfer and get my ADN then bachelors for nursing , which is my ultimate goal. I only need 1 or 2 semesters to enter into a nursing program. I am not knocking Medical Assisting but I am thinking of job opportunities and I plan to go for nursing anyway if I did earn my MA degree. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Have you already started your MA program, or are you still doing the pre-requisites?

No just doing the pre reqs. Im supposed to apply at the end of my summer courses for MA but its not truely what I want. I have many credits that will transfer into the ADN program I plan to transfer to. Im wandering am I better to apply to the ADN then I plan to bridge to the BSN. I have well over 30 transfer credits for the ADN. Also I will be able to get my STNA certification prior to applying as the school requires it.
