Struggling with Prereqs. Worried about nursing school

Students Pre-Nursing

Hi,

I am struggling with my prereqs. It's not that the material is hard, it's just such a load! This is the do or die semester since I apply in may so its crucial I do good. I feel that since I am so overwhelmed with my prereq loads, I'm going to do terrible in nursing school since its much more fast paced and more work. I'm just really worried that if I do get in I won't know how to handle it or won't be able to.

Wow hun slow down. I know you have all the stresses, but if you can, forget about the whole may thing. Wen, you get through this semesters/ quarters classes you know you are going to apply. So dont worry about that part. That may help with the stress, another thing that may help is to just focus on the here and now. Yes we know that the program is going to be a wild crazy ride, and when we get to that point takel it then. It is all doable. Just stay focused on the here and now so you dont mess up the future. If you need to talk to other students about how they get through all this. I talk to other students, watch youtude videos of other students - both nursing and non nursing. I have gotten some great orginization ideas for school from middle schoolers on up out of college. The younger they are it seems so much more simpler because they dont have the full plates like us. Really my main advice is to slow down the thinking abit and just focus on the presant so you can do awesome. If the stress and fears get ovre whelming and for me it happens, I write them all down on a piece of paper and get it the hell out of me. It woulds. You got this!

Thanks so much!! I do tend to forget to just take it one day at a time! I just really want to do good so I'm not too worried about getting in or not.

If you are struggling with your pre-req, do what you have to do now to fix it. Don't wait. Talk to an academic adviser and see where you are falling short. See if there's a study group that you can join. Talk to your instructor during office hrs and find out their opinion of where you can improve. Research good study habits and stick to them. If you can't get your pre-req in line, then your chances of nursing school will start slipping away. Many of the classes that contain a vast amount of information requires a different way of thinking. You have to strategically study; not just memorize. Nursing school is fast paced, but there's a way to better your study habits. But, fix it now. Plus, the more stress you have, the worse you are going to study.
