Should I start studying now???

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I start my A&P1 class in about 3 weeks, I am so determined to make sure I pass this class with an A and I want to do everything I can possibly do to make this happen. Is it a good idea to start looking over the book and taking notes now? I thought it would be so that way I can get into a rhythm so that way I'm not so overwhelmed when the class actually starts. Also I feel like I need a little bit of time to figure out what kind of study habits will work for me and if I have extra time I can work out any kinks before the class starts. I just want to be prepared, but I don't know if it will even help. I also found the course schedule from this spring for my teacher, and even though it's not the same dates I can kind of use that as a guide line for what we will be doing.

It would not hurt to read over in line with your syllabus. Your instructor will not cover all of the material in every chapter. If you take a bunch of unnecessary notes you might confuse yourself.

Is it a summer course? Memorize bones and muscles and that will help!

Specializes in None.

I agree with TWiersch-memorize and learn the bones and muscles and you will be in good shape. Everything else kind of depends on the professor. Some want you to know different things. However, I believe every professor makes their students memorize muscle and bones.

Commit to memory the cranial nerves! You will need to know those for nursing school and beyond.

Yes, bones, muscles & cranial nerves. Those are the hardest things to learn in such a condensed session. Good luck!

Thank you guys so much for the advice!
