Recent law grad looking to transition into nursing

Hi There! I graduated from law school in May of 2016 however I am now looking to transition into an ABSN program as the law is not for me. I realized that while I want to help people, I want to be advocating for a "client" in a different way. I graduated from undergrad in 2013 and originally started out on a path into the health profession but didn't take it very seriously and switched to a business degree. I am now finding it difficult to find an ABSN program that will take less than a 3.0 undergrad gpa. While I am just under at a 2.9, my short stint in sciences are weighing me down. I am planning to take all my pre-reqs at a local community college or at the school offering the ABSN program. I am looking for advice on what is the best route to go or if I can use my law degree to my advantage to help overlook my undergrad GPA. I am in the Tri-State area if that helps and am currently considering University of Rochester and schools on Long Island/Westchester/Connecticut. Don't want to go too far from the area.
