  1. Should Nursing CAS transfer all applicant's info, docs, transcripts, references from version 2 to 3?

Nursing CAS is using application or cycle 2 and 3 depending on the program and deadline of the Colleges/Universities that are participating. The problem is that if you submitted all required transcripts, documentation, and even electronic references from professors and or employers under application or cycle 2 and the program you are applying for uses now the new version application or cycle 3, you will have to create a new account and submitt all the documents all over again! Imagine lossing all the electronic references already provided perhaps by professors that either retired and or no longer work in the prior University you attended? Imagine after spending time and money uploading all your academic transcripts, having to obtain the same all over again, paid for, and then upload them and or pay Nursing CAS to upload them for you? Why pay twice?

This situation is insane! Nursing CAS should be able to transfer all the inputed documentation including but not limited to academic transcripts, licenses, resume, statements, and electronic references already provided by professors, colleagues, and or employers from application or cycle 2 to the new version 3!

We must unite on this effort! Call Nursing CAS and or email them directly and tell them how this affect us directly. Imagine having to order all over again transcripts, investing time and money, and requesting electronic references! I though Nursing CAS was a centralize application system!

Nursing CAS needs to correct this issue and transfer the uploaded data, transcripts, documents, and electronic references from application / cycle 2 to their new version application / cycle 3. Do what is just for us nurses and students alike that are already in the system.

Make your voices be heard!

As students and professionals it is YOUR responsibility to keep copies of all necessary documentation in your personal records at home. It is not the responsibility of CAS that you no longer have access to your transcripts, letters of recommendation, licenses, resume, etc. If I were to ask a past professor, unit manager, etc for a letter of recommendation, even if they offered to upload it to CAS personally, I would request a hard copy to file in case I needed it at a later date. As you stated, people move, retire, change institutions, etc all the time, and without a hard copy of all paperwork on file you might be asking for recommendations every time you apply for a new program, job, etc.

Also, it is not a bad idea to ask professors or unit supervisors that you have a good relationship with for a reference letter in case you ever need one when you finish a class or change jobs. This way you have more current references and several to choose from when applying to a new school program or job opening. You can somewhat "tailor" your references to the position you are applying for based on the type of unit that the reference worked in or class they taught.

Good luck. Hard lesson to learn!

The issue is NursingCAS only accepts official transcripts and recommendations directly from professors/employers, so applicants who are applying to programs that use 2.0 and 3.0 must pay for transcripts and ask the people to provide recommendations 2 times - once for 2.0 and once for 3.0. It does not matter if we have copies on file - NursingCAS will not accept them from the applicant.

It's wildly inefficient and suspect that it has caused delays in application verification. All of my supporting documents have been with both 2.0 and 3.0 for over a month (the last arriving December 12!) and have yet to be verified. Fortunately I have applied to several schools that use native portals, but I am upset that I paid for the transcripts and application fees AND had to ask more of my professors and boss.

It was a big mistake to allow 2.0 and 3.0 to be live concurrently. NursingCAS made extra work for everyone involved in the application process by not fully transitioning to 3.0. Poorly done.

I agree with you yowheez. NursingCAS has made my application process so taxing and has wasted a lot of my time and money through this whole experience. I have been waiting two weeks for my application to be completely processed through the 3.0 system and they still haven't finished!! It took them 10 days to "evaluate" one transcript, which I had expedited to their HQ btw. I am getting anxious waiting for my application to finally be verified in their 3.0 system, whereas with their 2.0 system, it would have gotten the same job done in a fraction of the time. And on top of that, I still have to submit a supplemental application to my program but cannot do so until NursingCAS completely processes my application and forwards it to my program.

Sorry to tell you that even if you save all copies (transcripts, reference letters, etc.) NursingCAS won't accept them, period. NursingCAS requires recent transcripts and letters sent to them directly by the Institutions and people that are providing electronic references. So I do not know what are you talking about when you state "Your responsibility", as NursingCAS changed their so call sofware from a 3.1 to a 3.2 and told me on the phone, that they could not save the information already in their system. Is another way to repeat services, pay more money, waste time, and bother again, and again those people and or institutions providing references.
