Prerequisites and Nursing School?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am almost finished with my prereqs and I plan to start nursing school in the fall of 2018. I will be receiving my Associate in Science after this fall semester and plan on transferring to a school to get my BSN. I would like to go to school up north, NYC being my first option and Philly my second option. What schools would you recommend applying too up north. I will have a GPA of 3.4 or 3.6 once this semester ends. Has anyone transferred to a 4 year with a CA degree? I recently moved to Florida from San Francisco but I am having a hard time adjusting I have a preference for big cities. NYC would be a better fit for me to commit to live there for two more years for me to complete my BSN. Any advice or recommendations with school?

Hey, current accelerated BSN student here.

My first word of advice, do your research on the school! Read reviews, talk to current students, and see what people say about the program.

Secondly, I would recommend making a student portfolio with everything youve done in college and volunteer wise. I made copies on resume paper and brought it with me to leave with my interviewer and it really set me above the others!

I would say dont set your sights on just one or two schools, you really are going to be spending a ton of money while in school. Textbooks, software programs, etc, so look at tuition costs and again, look at the reviews! Some programs sound good, but they are extremely unorganized.

Anyway, not sure if that helps, but good luck!

Thank you for the advice. Is there any programs that would you recommend? Since i'm not from NYC its hard to ask students opinion that attend school over there.
