Can you work in the pre-op or post-op with a ADN, or do you have to have a BSN? ...Or is this a hospital specific thing?

...Just thinking about the future...I have to get through A and P first :chuckle

From what I understand you can work, and do the same work with the same pay, on any floor/unit with a BSN or ADN. The only difference position wise is that most places want you to have a BSN or MSN to be a in management. You might need a BSN or MSN for research positions as well.

Thanks for your reply. I'm going for my ADN now, and I plan on doing the RN to BSN route after I start working. As for management, ummmm, don't think I'd want that! lol (who knows on down the line!) lol

Yes, you can work in most all patient care areas with an ADN. That's what the ADN does, cares for the patients at the bedside. Good luck!

Thanks 3rdSshiftGuy! My nephew has had several surgeries w/i the past year, and everytime I feel like I "belong" in either preop or postop. Good to know I can do that when I get my ADN! :balloons:
