Please Help Me !!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Im currently a Queens borough community college student, last semester i took Anantomy and i dropped it because i was taking it with math (math is one of my weak subjects) so i end up getting a C- in math. this semester i took anatomy over and failed it. i also failed my history class. Please help me outt! idkk what to do, my gpa is 1.9 now. i had never failed any classes since ive started school and idk any schools that will accept me to the nursing program. what will be my best bet? should i get an associates in liberal arts and re try to apply to the nursing program again? 😕😕😕😕😕😕😕 im so sad and i feel like a loser.

First, ask yourself why you failed. Did you study daily? Or did you wait until the week of the test and try to cram? Were you overwhelmed with outside responsibilities, did you just not get the work, did you ask for help, go to tutoring, etc. Once you can pinpoint why you believe you failed, you can work on it and "start again."

My other suggestion is to take AP over in the fall so long as the new grade replaces the old. Take this summer to go over the notes you were given this last semester and search Professor Fink (youtube) for additional help. I have the EZ anatomy and physiology book which simplifies your textbook. My suggestion would be to read a chapter in the EZ book followed by the pertinent chapter in your textbook supplemented with your class notes. Don't overwhelm yourself -- aim to cover a chapter a week (just like you would in class), and study at least 2hrs a day. The more you write down, the more you will retain.

Realistically, your GPA needs to get to the 3s in order for nursing schools to even look at you. Just don't give up! Use this summer to "fix" things.

Good luck!
