Playing the waiting game?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Anyone else playing the waiting game to see if you got into the nursing program??

I sent off my application for my college's nursing program back in January. The deadline just passed on March 1st, and when I spoke to an academic advisor they said letters will be out by the end of this month and the beginning of April. I feel sooooo anxious :uhoh3:

Some days I feel confident that I'll get in for the fall, but then I read around or hear something about how hard it is to get in and all my confidence is deflated :( I thought that I had a good GPA (currently at a 3.2, hoping for a 3.4 after I'm done with this semester), but word is that they are looking for higher GPAs than what I currently have despite the minimum GPA required is 2.75 : /

I just need to get all these anxious thoughts out of my head...Anyone care to join me??? :D

I applied back in October and our deadline was early January, I know I've done everything in my power but can't wait until I get that letter. Suposed to be end of March, hopefully April will come soon.

OH my! I thought I had to wait a long time....October to April. I only have to wait from mid-Feb to April!

I thought I was the only one. I called the school a couple of times from different numbers to verify the date that letters should go out. I figured that was borderline, so I just check the mailbox, my e-mail accounts, and the discussion board in case anyone who applied to my school receives their letter. I am looking for ANYTHING

When I met with my advisor, a question came up about how something would reflect on my transcript since some of my pre-reqs were covered by my first degree. The answer had something to do with when she switched my major from pre-nursing to nursing in the system (assuming I get in). So I've been checking every day to see if my major has switched from "pre-nursing" to "nursing" just in case she updates it before letters go out!!

Mrs. Lewis....I'm in the same boat as you. I got a letter a few weeks ago informing me that I got an interview. That interview is in TWO DAYS!! After that, we'll know in a week who gets in. It's been a long wait since I applied in October....I can't believe it's just one more week.

Oh, and I don't think GPA has anything to do with interview skills. There are many people who are book smart that have no interpersonal skills whatsoever!

Good thing for someone like me who only has a 3.68 :-) Good luck to all of you.

I'm freaking out, too. I'm confident about my grades (4.0), and my entrance exam score (95% on HESI), BUT, I'm in the process of taking 4 of the pre-reqs now, and I have to still take 1 more science pre-req over the summer. They treat our midterm grades as finals, and I'm headed for another set of A's this semester, so that will look great....but I'm petrified that despite my good looks on paper, I'm not going to get in because of that 1 class I'll have to complete over the summer. I'm driving myself insane thinking about this.

Like the OP, I should be finding out late this month/early April.

FLhusker...Good luck on your interview...I wish they could just give us an acceptance as soon as the interview was complete!
