Playing the waiting game?

Anyone else playing the waiting game to see if you got into the nursing program??

I sent off my application for my college's nursing program back in January. The deadline just passed on March 1st, and when I spoke to an academic advisor they said letters will be out by the end of this month and the beginning of April. I feel sooooo anxious :uhoh3:

Some days I feel confident that I'll get in for the fall, but then I read around or hear something about how hard it is to get in and all my confidence is deflated :( I thought that I had a good GPA (currently at a 3.2, hoping for a 3.4 after I'm done with this semester), but word is that they are looking for higher GPAs than what I currently have despite the minimum GPA required is 2.75 : /

I just need to get all these anxious thoughts out of my head...Anyone care to join me??? :D

I am in the same boat! Our deadline was Feb. 15... The college I applied to do interviews first...So I'm hoping to get an interview next week, but I'm terrible at interviews! I have a 3.4 GPA (requirement 2.5) but it's people out there with 3.7's...a lot of people so...I'm going crazy also!:banghead:

Oooh good luck! I know it sounds crazy, but I WISH my college had interviews for their nursing program. I just feel that it would give students who lack the 4.0 GPA, but are extremely passionate about the nursing profession, an even playing field to those with the high GPAs, you know what I mean?

Yeah, but normally people with 4.0's have GREAT interviewing skills! I don't think i would be freaking out if it wasn't for the interview! Hopefully my passion for nursing will shine and it will help:D!

i'm right there with you.. I applied to two schools.. one of which deadline passed in Feb. and the other is next week... I wish I could hit the FFWRD button and get it over with lol... it's killing me.

I feel your pain, LOL... I've stooped to the level of programming my admission counselors name into my phone... I hope this is a good week for us all...

Maybe, but being book smart doesn't always mean that they have good interviewing OR people skills ;) Feeling nervous is totally normal when you've worked so hard to where you are now! I think I've had an anxiety attack every day for the last week thinking about this whole process!

Just relax, be confident, and remember that no one else is better than you just because they might interview better or have a higher GPA - it doesn't take away from your passion for nursing :redbeathe

Okay, now that my friend, is hilarious! Actually, it's not that bad of an idea lol...I'm sure the admission counselors are used to being pestered by anxious students though...I'm half tempted to send out another email to my academic advisor since I'm paranoid about my current GPA...

SWingate86, it sounds like we're on the same schedule! I applied in January and our deadline was March 1. The official notification time period is May 1 to June 1 but I've heard that they're trying to get letters out before Spring Break, so the end of the this month! Of course, every day when I get the mail, I quickly shuffle through everything looking for an envelope from school just in case...

I do the same thing with my mail :lol2: Normally I wait until my husband gets home to look through the mail since he brings it in, but I've been going out to the mail box as soon as I hear the mail truck drive away...I also check my school email address just in case they send something there too...I guess you could say I'm an eager beaver :lol2:

I did the same thing. I have been emailing or calling my adviser once a week since a week before application deadline. LOL! I think she officially know me by heart. However the mailbox does not have my attention at all (We get called for interviews before acceptance letters go out) my phone is not leaving my side though, not to mention it is on the loudest ring possible!!!! :D I'm sure the mail man and I will become good friends after the interviewing process is done! They said everyone should know if they have been accepted before summer registration begins, and it begins April 4th...so I don't have much longer to play the waiting game. But this week is spring break for me...and I'm so anxious about getting an interview and getting accepted I can't enjoy it!

I applied back in October and our deadline was early January, I know I've done everything in my power but can't wait until I get that letter. Suposed to be end of March, hopefully April will come soon.

OH my! I thought I had to wait a long time....October to April. I only have to wait from mid-Feb to April!
