Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I came across something and I thought I would share it! I know a lot of you, like myself, are waiting to hear if you've been accepted into nursing school or not and you are dying to prepare somehow.

I was browsing here on allnurses about calculation texts so I could prepare for my first semester of nursing school- math isn't really my "favorite" subject.. Well, most of the suggested texts were too expensive for me so I searched a bit on amazon and I found 'Medical Dosage Calculations for Dummies'. I read the reviews and thought I would give it a try, even though I was hesitant since it was one of those for dummies books.

I have been reading through it and I am quite surprised. Actually, I may be in love with it at the moment! It is FULL of info from patient charting, abbreviations, scripts, and so on. It shows you how to do the calculations and has a review of basic math that is needed. It has nursing things in it too- history and such. I am VERY pleased with this book! It was only $12 on Amazon too! To sum it up, this is a great book if you'd like to try to "prepare" like myself.. Especially if you can't afford one of those more pricey books. It was also written by a doctor and is easy to understand/follow.

Hope this helps someone! Good luck!!
