Number of applicants increasing for accelerated BSRN

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I've seen lots of advice on here saying that there are fewer applicants for those second-degree RN programs than for other programs. But a discussion on another (non-nursing) board gave these figures:

"265 qualified applicants for 60 slots in our accelerated program. Our traditional program had over 350 for 90 slots"

"It's a top 10 school- they got about 400 applications, interview about 150 people and have a class size of around 75"

Just thought I'd post that here as some rough numbers.

Thanks for the stats. They are in line with what I am seeing locally. Every time the idea of BSN for entry level is raised I point to this simple fact. Unless there is suddenly an influx of instructors and a massive increase in the number of spots in BSN programs, the ASN will remain a valid entry point.
