Needing help deciding which classes to take! Have you ever taken these together??

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi all! I am wanting to go for my ADN starting fall 2013. I applied last year, but didn't get in. I had taken all pre-req's but micro, but I had c's in my anatomy's. So, seeing that I am really, really, really going to have to try everything to get into the program...I am going to retake my anatomy's and try to get A's in them, take micro(hopefully get an A as well), and now, since it has been over 10 years so I have to take chemistry too.!( It has been probably 8 years since my anatomy's, so honestly I am happy to retake them! I certainly need a refresher, and I am a much more motivated student than I was eight years ago when I took them!)

Anyway, I have really just now decided to try again for the program. I only have the summer and fall semester to complete these courses in time to turn in my application and get the points for them.

If it was you, what route would you take? Chemistry and A&P1 in the summer, and micro and A&P2 in the fall...or vice versa?? Technically, I have already taken my anatomy's so I guess I could take them both in a semester and micro and chemistry the next..but that sounds awful., too! I am dreading micro and chemistry! LOL! Anybody ever done classes together like this? What classes would you recommend????

I am not the smartest person in the world, but I am bound and determined to get into this program...so I HAVE to do well!! Any advice or experience with this would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

The Chem/AP1 and Micro/AP2 seems like a solid plan.

Someone else suggested the same thing...thank you for your reply!

My experience with those types of classes is regardless of which ones you take together the courses will still be difficult. I do agree with the other peeps that Chem/AP1 and Micro/AP2 is the best way to go. Sounds like you have a great attitude and are expecting that it will be hard but will try your best.

Good luck!

Chem and A&P I - summer

micro and A&P II - fall

If you find yourself drowing or think you might drown with these courses together, get help as quick as you can. Don't slack off in these classes, just a heads up.

Good luck

If your seriously considering taking A&P I & II together just be sure to check to see the school will allow you to take them in the same semester. I know that all the schools here require that you take A&P I as a pre-req to A&P II.

I'd go with Chem and A&P I and Micro and A&P II.

I'll throw a wrench in and suggest taking A&Ps back to back in the summer session and take chem and micro together in the fall. The A&P labs are easy - straight memorization - compared to Chem and Micro. Chem and Micro labs are more involved and I'd prefer to have more time with them in a long semester. Also check if A&P2 is offered in a fall semester - I know here some of the schools only offer A&P1 in the fall and 2 in the spring. (after re-reading this I just thought of something - if you're summer isn't split in half then disregard this and go with what the others suggested - def. take micro in the long semester)

I agree with Capricorn - you've really got to nail these classes - you can get behind quick (especially micro). Anything with a lab is like taking two classes for the price of one. Don't underestimate them.
