Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I am in Nursing school almost a month and I find myself falling behind in A&P any suggestions on how to study and learn A&P without draining myself.

Why are you falling behind? Are you keeping up with the reading? Do you understand what your professor talks about in lecture?

My A&P teacher advised my class to read theassigned chapter before lecture, take notes during class, and after class (like in the evening), re-read/re-write our notes and make sure we understood the concepts. Honestly I didn't keep up with the reading like I should have; the days I did read before class, though, were much better than the days I didn't. Then I studied in small sections based on my prof's powerpoints/textbook sections.

Generally your A&P teacher won't ask you to memorize everything, but the basic understanding of concepts is very important. I made a lot of charts, outlined my textbook on a Word document, and used my textbook's website to take quizzes and watch animations. If studying with others is beneficial to you, then get together with a study group. (But participation is key, not just listening to your friend rattle off the answers to every question/explain everything perfectly.)

I ended up using weekends as my A&P study sessions. I tried to get everything for my other classes done during the week so I could have all Saturday and Sunday to go over what I learned the previous week.

And if none of that helps, ask your professor for advice!

Thank you I am gonna try this. I try to read the assigned chapter but we have a test everyday and I need to read today's chapter and can't seem to get ahead I just have to do what you did and use Saturday and Sunday for A&P only. I tried to get into tidy groups but it seems as if no one at my school likes them so I am on my own. I plan to talk with my professor tomorrow after our muscle test and she what she thinks I should do differently. Thank you so much for your input I will try anything until I figure this out completely.

That sounds really tough! Yeah, I would talk to the professor to see if she has any ideas as well. You can do it! :)

That's really tough to have a test everyday!! Are they quizzes or tests? Do they count a ton percentage wise? I think speaking with the prof is an excellent idea. Also, des your school have tutoring available? This helps tremendously when you're drowning!

Nurse2b7337 they are quizzes and thy will count as 40% of our grade and the final is 60% of our grade. No they don't have time to tutor they tell us. I am not giving up I plan to utilize my weekends I guess.
