MCC acceptance letters???

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I just submitted my application for the fall semester to McLennan Community College. Does anyone know when letters go out? I know they don't even meet until June....

I only have 39 points :-/ My grades are awesome, but I haven't taken growth and development yet (taking it summer 1) and I haven't moved to McLennan County yet (moving in 3 weeks). I am SO stressed about it! But, I will have 46 points in Sept, if I have to re-apply

Anyone else just submit their application to MCC???

I got a 900 on the critical thinking section with a 98 on both my reading and math section! and my learning style is visual/analytical and my personality style was creative/leader. Honestly, I think if the candidates are identical it's probably just pure luck after that :(

All I hear is that it's really hard. It was hard when my sister was in, in 2011 and my brother said the same for this past fall. I think it just depends on the person and how they are able to manage their time! She did fine, and he didn't continue with it in the fall, but hes going back this fall. She made it through, but a lot of things came up and she's barely able to retake her NCLEX next month. They could be just angry lol I would be too if I wasn't able to get in, but you never know how they were doing in their classes and on their hesi! Some people just get frustrated, plus MCC is very competitive for this program!! All I know is that they say C's are your new best friend, but i've heard that goes for every nursing program! haha It's a great program though!! Which is why it's the only one I'm really trying to get into :)

I am glad to hear it is a good program! I had been intending on going to TCC starting in January until we found out we were moving. I applied to MCC in May not really thinking I would get in bc the pre-reqs are different than for TCC. TCC has one of the best programs in the DFW metroplex. Even better than TCU and the other bigger schools. I expect it to be hard. I am just ready to get on with it!

Yes it really is a great program! I heard they were actually trying out a different method for the program! It started in the fall I believe. And aw it's a shame you had to move, that would have been great also!

So have you spoken to anyone else applying for the spring?

I have not. I just know the one girl who got her 2nd rejection letter last month. I spoke with several people while I was waiting to submit my application, but I don't know if any of them got in!

this intro A&P class is way more in depth than I was expecting it to be! I am doing fine, I just thought it would barely scratch the surface, but we are having to know specific muscles - some that we only had to know the groups of in my previous A&P 1 class

Really? How were her points?

Who are you taking it with? That's interesting my professor last fall wasn't too strict on those kinds of things, but my ap1 professor is an entirely different story lol

I am not sure how her points were, but she got accepted into Hill College.I was talking to her husband the other day and he said with 46 points and a 4.0, I will definitely get in. Did you ever ask Clark about how many people they admit for the spring?

I am taking it with Shannon Thomas. She does not seem to have it all together! There are a bunch of questions about thinghs she doesn't cover in the lessons and there are a TON of errors in her lessons. I have shown her probably 10 errors (maybe more??) and she is going to give me a full extra point on my final grade for finding them. It won't matter because I will have an A either way.... I am just REALLY glad that I am taking this for review. If I was needing to learn the info like this, there would be no hope for me!

I am submitting my application tomorrow!!!!!!!! When are you going to submit yours?

How is your semester going so far?

I just seen this! I submitted it today too and I'm really freaking out now haha its going good! I had my first test this week and that went good too! How about yours?

it's good. I am just taking the elem stats class online. I like math, so I am enjoying it. I guess this is one last semester of rest before things get serious! you ended up with 43 points and a 4.0, right?

Is it pretty decent? And yes ma'm i sure did! I wish it was the 46, but I'm just praying it's enough. :/

Do you know when we'll hear from them?
