Is this actually possible?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone,

I have a few questions and was wondering if you can help me or if anyone has been in my situation.

I'm a freshman in college (a CUNY college) just finished my first semester.

I've been taking prerequisites such as English, and Math. I was dealing with a lot and I felt so depressed and stressed for the first few weeks of college that it actually interfered with my school work. I just wasn't able to concentrate. So I ended up getting a D+ in psychology and a B+ in English. I was told that I can't retake any pre-clinical classes at my school. Is it possible to re apply as a transfer student to another CUNY school that offers a nursing program?

"CAN I RETAKE THE CLASS I GOT A D+ THIS SEMESTER, IN ANOTHER SCHOOL?" or did this screw everything up? :crying2:

Specializes in CNA.

Check if your school has a grade forgiveness type of thing for classes you get a D in. If not, I was told when I asked about retaking classes, that you have to go to a different school that accepts the transfer credit and then retake it there. Either that or wait a certain amount of time.

Communicate with your advisors at school and they will help you. If they don't, be firm and make them :-)

I agree, I would talk to your advisor about alternatives. It seems like you could take psychology online from any accredited college and transfer it in. I'm surprised that you can't re-take general ed courses at your college. Our school only has a 2 time limit on the sciences: A&P, micro, chem.

Different schools have different policies. You need to speak to an advisor at your school to see what your options are at that school.
