Human Body Mannequin

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello, I'm taking an A&P class this semester and thought it would be cool if I had my own Human Body to familiarize myself with at home. I'm not speaking of a full length mannequin it scan be from the waist up. Has anyone else had this idea and found a mannequin? If so, please let me know.

I search for "human body anatomical mannequin" and came up with all sort of hits. It's not going to be cheap.

Yes, they are so expensive! I had the same thought until I saw the cost. A couple of girls from my classes got together and spent some time in the Academic Resource Center at school, mannequins provided free of charge! It just took a little discipline to drive to the school for studying, rather than sitting at home in the big comfy chair. It helped me to draw anything I was having trouble memorizing. If you looked at my notebooks you would probably laugh pretty hard, but it helped. Good luck!!

They are a tad expensive but found several different types (skeleton, body torso for male & female) at allheart.com. I have purchased many items from this site and are very reliable and quick to ship.

The torso/skeletal in our lab had several missing parts and were a bit worn but did the trick all the same.

Good Luck!!

A lot of time the science departments or campus libraries will have a mannequin or bone box for you to use as you study.

Frankly, I liked the flashcards (your bookstore probably sells them). Mannequins are helpful but flash cards show the parts from different angles and perspectives, which helped me see how they all fit together. Plus you can easily keep the flashcards with you and study wherever you are.

I failed A&P the first time because of cardiac so I decided to buy a heart model for about $60 at Amazon. Did not help. But I also got a job on a cardiac telemetry floor and that helped a lot. I would just buy some anatomical flash cards from the bookstore.

Thanks to everyone for their advice.I did find a flash card website for all subjects. http://www.Quizlet.com Those mannequins ARE pretty pricey!!!
