HELP! big decision!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

ok so since around april i started thinking about becoming a nurse, i wasn't able to get into the nursing program into my school because it was full, but i decided to go there anyway because it was my first choice (im a freshman) & i just started thinking about nursing.

ive flipped back and forth over the past few months of considering different careers since i cant do nursing here, but i always end up going back to nursing. ive researched it a lot and i know its a tough career but i think its what i really want!

so heres the dilemma: since returning from break i realized how unhappy i am at my school, so theres a local school i can still transfer to & im seriously considering it! i would try and take some pre-req courses such as chem (do you have any suggestions of pre-reqs most schools require that i should try & get into)? but im really nervous.

do you think this is a rash move & maybe i shoud wait out the year? (i wasnt able to take the courses i thought would be good for nursing here..paying all this money for what!?) ahh idk what to do! my parents wouldn't mind the transfer they said its up to me. im just nervous because its a good school and maybe i would regret leaving or something.. what if i end up not liking nursing :/ so i guess what im asking is do you think i should go for it? thanks for any answers :)

Do you feel like it is a smart decision? When I started doing my prereqs to get into nursing, I looked into different programs as well and all I could think about, and want was nursing. So, I've been sticking with it ever since. Can you take the classes at your current school and then transfer? You have to take A&P 1 & 2, Microbiology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Psychology, and many more. I would check with an adviser and see what you need to do and go to the school of your choice and talk with them as well. Maybe you should start a CNA course or volunteer at a hospital to see what it is like. Hope this information helps you out with your decision.
