Do you think I'm a good fit?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I'm wondering if I'm a good fit for nursing before committing myself to it.

I'm a kind person, have a heart to serve others, patient, and skill oriented (I like learning and doing my work well). I really enjoy murder investigation shows and critical thinking too (might be related to pathology?).

I'm not huge on math, but if I brush up on it and stick with it I'm a B student, and science is alright...depending on the subject.

What do you think?

You're the only one that can answer that question. If you are passionate about nursing and work hard then you will succeed. I would suggest volunteering in a hospital and shadowing a nurse to find out if you would like the profession.

You're a good fit if you successfully make it through a program!

None of us know you personally. So none of us can answer this for you. Nursing is more than being kind and wanting to serve other people. By your description of yourself, I would say be a member of the clergy. I can pretty much say anything because I don't know you.

Nursing is competitive. All of it, from the prereqs to the actual job. It's fast-paced and you need to keep up. You need thick skin because of competition. There is just so much more to it. You do need though to be able to get yourself to somewhat of an A student to even be considered for programs. You don't need straight As but it's much harder for straight B students to get in. You will need to motivate yourself.
